La UE multa por ventajas fiscales a grandes firmas

La autoridad de Competencia ha anunciado multas a Starbucks en Holanda y Fiat en Luxemburgo por haberse ahorrado facturas millonarias de impuestos en la UE gracias al traje a medida que le proporcionaron los Gobiernos de esos países, según una información adelantada por el diario británico Financial Times.

La sanción a estas dos empresas constituye la primera fase de un proceso que implica a más compañías.
Además de Starbucks y Fiat, Bruselas investiga formalmente a Apple y a Amazon en Irlanda, así como todo el entramado fiscal para grandes firmas en Bélgica.

Y más allá de esas investigaciones formales, la comisaria de Competencia, Margrethe Vestager, ha pedido datos adicionales a un buen número de países, entre ellos España, para determinar si los generosos marcos fiscales que ofrecen a sus compañías resultan selectivos y, por tanto, violan la libre competencia.

En cuanto a la magnitud de las multas, el diario británico habla de menos de 30 millones de euros en el caso de la estadounidense Starbucks y de más penalización a la rama financiera de Fiat en Europa.

As for the magnitude of the fines, the British newspaper speaks less than 30 million euros in the case of Starbucks US and more penalizing the financial arm of Fiat in Europe.
