El diputado provincial del PSOE responsable del Área de Fomento, Infraestructuras y Apoyo y Atención al Municipio, Cristóbal Fernández, ha mostrado este martes su apoyo a la continuidad del retén de bomberos de la localidad de Manilva como complemento del futuro parque de bomberos de Estepona, supervivencia que la gerencia del Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos ha puesto en duda según han denunciado los socialistas.

El diputado, que ha destacado el buen trabajo que realizan los bomberos del retén del municipio, ha añadido que la incorporación de Estepona al Consorcio Porvincial de Bomberos es una buena noticia.

Sin embargo, ha afirmado compartir la preocupación del alcalde de Manilva, Diego Jiménez, y del equipo de gobierno local por la posibilidad de que el retén pudiera verse suprimido, añadiendo que tanto el Grupo Socialista como el de Izquierda Unida en la Diputación ha rechazado esta eliminación.
