Málaga 24h TV – El Papa Francisco viajará a Lesbos

El papa Francisco siente preocupación por los refugiados e inmigrantes. Lo demostró eligiendo la isla italiana de Lampedusa, símbolo de la inmigración en el Mediterráneo, para que fuera el destino de su primer viaje como obispo de Roma en julio de 2013.

También lo manifestó el pasado febrero, cuando presidió una Eucaristía en Ciudad Juárez junto a la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos, o el pasado Jueves Santo, en el que celebró la misa de la Cena del Señor en un centro para solicitantes de asilo a las afueras de Roma.

La próxima etapa de este recorrido de Francisco será Lesbos, donde desembarcan buena parte de los refugiados que sueñan con alcanzar una vida mejor en Europa tras zarpar desde las costas turcas.

De esta isla griega partieron además buena parte de los primeros inmigrantes deportados el lunes a Turquía en cumplimiento del acuerdo que alcanzaron Bruselas y Ankara el mes pasado, destinado a reducir las llegadas de extranjeros a Grecia a través del mar Egeo.

El Papa tiene previsto visitar Lesbos el 14 o 15 de este mes.
El Vaticano no confirmó oficialmente el viaje, que será probablemente de un solo día de duración, pero reconoció que existen contactos y consideró «autorizadas» las fuentes griegas que lo daban este martes por hecho.

The Pope is scheduled to visit Lesbos the 14th or 15th of this month.
The Vatican has not officially confirmed the trip, which will probably one day long, but acknowledged that there are contacts and considered «authorized» the Greek sources that gave Tuesday for granted.
