Málaga 24h TV – Margallo: «Saber que a los periodistas los tenía Al Nusra y no EI dio tranquilidad»

El ministro de Exteriores en funciones, José Manuel García-Margallo ha relatado este lunes que «desde el primer momento» se sabía que los tres periodistas españoles liberados en Siria habían sido secuestrados por el Frente Al Nusra, una filial de Al Qaeda, y no por el autodenominado Estado Islámico y que eso dio «una enorme tranquilidad» dentro de la «angustia» del secuestro.

«Si hubiese sido DAESH hoy no estaríamos hablando en la forma y término en que lo estamos haciendo», ha dicho en declaraciones a Antena 3, recogidas por Europa Press, dos días después de la liberación de Ángel Sastre, Antonio Pampliega y José Manuel López tras 10 meses de secuestro en Siria.

Margallo ha aprovechado para agradecer la colaboración de Turquía y Qatar en la liberación de los periodistas, aunque sin desvelar en qué ha consistido la colaboración de los qataríes, alegando que la discreción es lo mejor para que «esto siga saliendo bien». Según ha dicho, él estuvo con representantes de los dos países en Bakú hace dos semanas.

Los 3 periodistas habrían recibido un trato correcto durante su cautiverio y habrían estado localizados en todo momento por el CNI.

Un total de ocho periodistas españoles han sido secuestrados en países en conflicto desde el año 2008.

Margallo took the opportunity to thank the collaboration of Turkey and Qatar in the release of the journalists, though without revealing what has involved the collaboration of the Qataris, claiming that discretion is the better for it «this continues going well». 3 journalists had been well treated during their captivity and would have been located at all times by the CNI.

A total of eight Spanish journalists have been kidnapped in countries in conflict since 2008.
