Málaga 24h TV – La guerra de Siria ha matado a 200 periodistas e informadores

Alrededor de 200 periodistas e informadores han sido asesinados en Siria desde que comenzó el conflicto, en marzo de 2011, y aproximadamente medio centenar están detenidos o secuestrados por las partes beligerantes, entre ellas grupos terroristas como Estado Islámico, según un informe de Reporteros Sin Fronteras.

El informe cifra en al menos 51 el número de periodistas profesionales que han sido asesinados durante estos años. Además, también han perdido la vida al menos 144 personas que ejercían el oficio sin ser su profesión, sin cuya labor sería imposible conocer lo que sigue pasando sobre el terreno.
A los datos sobre fallecidos se suma también que unos 50 informadores «están detenidos arbitrariamente en las numerosas prisiones sirias, son rehenes del DAESH u otros grupos extremistas, o han desaparecido», según ha advertido Reporteros Sin Fronteras en su informe, publicado con motivo del Día Mundial de los Refugiados.

La ONG ha recordado con estas cifras que los periodistas se han convertido en uno de los principales objetivos de la violencia durante el conflicto, del que han huido cientos de periodistas, profesionales o no. Incluso en el exilio, muchos siguen temiendo por su seguridad, un miedo que se suma a las dificultades asociadas al mero hecho de ser refguiados.
