El Gobierno subirá un 8% el salario mínimo interprofesional, hasta los 707,6 euros mensuales, la mayor subida de los últimos 30 años del salario mínimo, que en la actualidad se sitúa en los 655,2 euros al mes.

El Ministerio de Empleo ha tomado esta decisión tras reunirse este jueves por la tarde con representantes de CCOO, UGT, CEOE y Cepyme, y después de que el portavoz del PSOE en el Congreso, Antonio Hernando, exigiera al Ejecutivo una subida del SMI de, al menos eso, un 8% para apoyar el objetivo de déficit y de deuda para 2017.

Tanto UGT como CCOO lo han calificado de «avance, pero insuficiente» , ya que consideran que aún está «alejada» de la demanda de los sindicatos de que el SMI se sitúe en los 800 euros en 2017 y llegue al 60% del salario medio en 2020 (950 euros).
