Populismo, la palabra de 2016 – Málaga 24h TV

La Fundéu BBVA ha dado a conocer su palabra del año, populismo, de entre las que han marcado la actualidad informativa de este año y que tienen, además, interés desde el punto de vista lingüístico.

Todo ello tras elegir escrache en 2013, selfie en 2014 y refugiado en 2015. Esta elección viene dada por el cambio de significado que ha ido ganando esta palabra originalmente neutra, pero que se ha ido cargando de connotaciones hasta convertirse en un arma en el debate político.

Según recoge EL MUNDO, el coordinador general de la Fundación, Javier Lascuráin ha explicado que «parecía claro que en un año tan político como este, con acontecimientos de importancia global como el brexit, la victoria electoral de Donald Trump y los diferentes procesos electorales y plebiscitarios en América y España, la palabra del año de Fundéu tenía que venir de ese ámbito».

Es más, varias de las doce candidatas que salieron a la luz hace unos días estaban vinculadas a la política: sorpaso, abstenciocracia, posverdad y la ganadora, populismo.
