The government studies the electric model applied by some countries in the region that keep the tariff stabilized regardless of oil price fluctuations, according to government president Mariano Rajoy.

This has been said on Monday by the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, in statements to RTVE without wanting to advance any further details. In any case, Rajoy has pointed out that after the price rises in kilowatt hours recorded in January, the light tariff will rise on average by around 100 euros throughout 2017, returning to 2015 levels.

In this regard, he recalled that the Government has frozen the fixed part of the tariff, and that the other, which has recorded the largest increases, comes from the market. The President of the Executive explained that the electricity bill has risen a lot this year because the price of crude rose by more than 100%, like that of gas and coal, and that shows «in a country that uses a lot The electricity that comes from the rain and the wind. »
