La familia de la mujer que dio a luz con 64 años gemelos pidió que la incapacitaran

La familia de la mujer de Burgos que acaba de dar a luz a gemelos a los 64 años y a la que se le retiró la custodia de otra niña que tuvo a los 58, intentó por todos los medios que los embarazos no se llevaran a cabo.
Sus hermanos llegaron incluso a pedirle a la Justicia -argumentando que Mauricia padece esquizofrenia- que la incapacitara y nombrara a uno de ellos como tutor legal. O que le retiraran el pasaporte, lo que le habría impedido viajar a Estados Unidos, donde Mauricia fue sometida a dos fecundaciones in vitro pese a su edad y su enfermedad.
Pero no lo consiguieron.

Antes de recurrir al laxo sistema de reproducción asistida norteamericano, Mauricia, pese a la férrea oposición familiar, lo intentó en España, en una clínica de Barcelona, donde obtuvo un no rotundo. La sanidad pública española no realiza fecundaciones in vitro a mujeres mayores de 40 años y las clínicas privadas tienen puesto el límite en los 50, y ella superaba los 60.

Recordemos además, que la mujer tuvo antes a otra niña, y la Guardia Civil tuvo que intervenir para retirarle a la pequeña, que ahora tiene 6 años y está actualmente a cargo de una sobrina canadiense de la propia mujer. Los servicios sociales detectaron importantes deficiencias, como aislamiento, higiene deficitaria y privación de aprendizaje, ya que no quería llevarla al colegio para que no se relacionara con otros niños.
Por todo ello, los servicios sociales de la Junta de Castilla y León están «analizando y estudiando si existe situación de riesgo para los recién nacidos».
