Casi 15.000 inmigrantes han llegado a Europa y 366 han muerto en 2017 – Málaga 24h TV

Desde principios de 2017 han muerto 366 inmigrantes que intentaban llegar a Europa a través del mar Mediterráneo, según la última estimación de la Organización Internacional para la Migración. Esta señala que 14.474 personas alcanzaron el continente durante los primeros dos meses del año.

De las llegadas, la inmensa mayoría (unas 14.000 personas) han llegado por rutas marítimas y solo 550 por tierra, de acuerdo con la agencia de Naciones Unidas, que destaca la espectacular subida registrada esta semana de inmigrantes a Italia, concretamente: de solo 92 la semana pasada a 1.253 en la actual.

Por nacionalidad, marfileños, sirios y afganos son los más numerosos, dependiendo de la ruta escogida (Italia, Grecia y Bulgaria, respectivamente).

La organización destaca sin embargo que la llegada de inmigrantes sigue siendo un fenómeno habitual y se cuentan por centenares diarios. Sin ir más lejos, en torno a 400 personas, entre ellas 180 mujeres y cuatro niños han sido rescatados en las últimas horas en las costas de Zuwara (Libia).
