La Justicia egipcia absuelve definitivamente a Mubarak – Málaga 24h TV

La Justicia egipcia ha absuelto este jueves de forma definitiva al expresidente Hosni Mubarak por la muerte de manifestantes durante las revueltas de principios de 2011, que terminaron con la caída de quien fuese dirigente de Egipto durante tres décadas.

Mubarak, de 88 años, fue condenado en 2012 a cadena perpetua, por conspirar para matar a 239 manifestantes en el marco de la Primavera Árabe. Un tribunal ordenó la repetición del juicio y, en 2014, el expresidente logró salir absuelto.
Tras el recurso presentado por la Fiscalía, el caso ha llegado a la máxima instancia de apelaciones de Egipto. Dicho proceso ha arrancado este jueves, con el juez leyendo los cargos a Mubarak, quien está acusado junto a su ministro del Interior, de suministrar vehículos y armas usados para atacar a los manifestantes y no emprender acciones para evitar muertes.

Egypt’s justice system has finally acquitted former President Hosni Mubarak of killing protesters during the uprising in early 2011, ending the fall of whoever led Egypt for three decades.

Mubarak, 88, was sentenced in 2012 to life imprisonment for conspiring to kill 239 protesters in the framework of the Arab Spring. A court ordered the trial to be repeated and, in 2014, the former president was acquitted.
Following the appeal filed by the Prosecutor’s Office, the case has reached the highest level of appeals in Egypt. That trial has started Thursday, with the judge reading the charges to Mubarak, who is accused along with his Interior Minister, of supplying used vehicles and weapons to attack the demonstrators and not take action to avoid deaths.
