Desafío Ártico o la ingente tarea de contar perros en el Polo Norte – Málaga 24h TV – Noticias –

La bandera de Andalucía ondeará en el polo norte durante la nueva expedición de “Desafío Ártico”, una iniciativa que empezará el próximo 26 de marzo y que se prolongará durante 22 días.

El delegado del Gobierno andaluz, José Luis Ruiz Espejo, ha hecho entrega al promotor de la iniciativa, Manuel Calvo, de una bandera de Andalucía, que ondeará en el trineo de este malagueño durante el tiempo de la expedición, que tiene objetivos tanto divulgativos como científicos.

La expedición está compuesta por dos malagueños, Manuel Calvo y su hijo Manuel Calvo Ariza, que a sus 16 años se convertirá en el explorador polar más joven en la historia de España.

La misión de esta expedición será básicamente realizar un censo de la población canina del noroeste de Groenlandia, una región en la que hay más perros que personas.

Además, esta expedición volverá a tener un componente científico y servirá, como en la pasada edición, para enviar muestras biológicas a las Universidades de Málaga y de Barcelona, contribuyendo al desarrollo de investigaciones científicas.
