Dastis pide «el mejor acuerdo posible» y dice que relación con Gibraltar requiere acuerdo

El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación, Alfonso Dastis, ha trasladado al jefe negociador para el ‘Brexit’ de la Comisión Europea, Michel Barnier, la voluntad del Gobierno español de lograr «el mejor acuerdo posible» con Reino Unido sobre su salida de la Unión y el nuevo marco de relación, al tiempo que ha reiterado que cualquier relación futura con Gibraltar tras el ‘Brexit’ requerirá un acuerdo entre España y Reino Unido.
Dastis ha trasladado a Barnier el «apoyo» del Gobierno español a la tarea que tiene por delante y su «confianza en él y en su equipo» y su «voluntad» de que los 27 se mantengan «unidos» para «alcanzar el mejor acuerdo posible con Reino Unido, primero sobre su retirada y, después, sobre un marco futuro de relaciones, que todos quieren que sean «lo más constructivas y positivas para ambas partes».
Gibraltar, por su parte, ha reclamado mantener la libre circulación de trabajadores a través de la Verja y su acceso al mercado interior pese al ‘Brexit’.
En un comunicado, el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación ha precisado que España apoyará un acuerdo lo más amplio posible sobre la cuestión de los derechos de los ciudadanos «cuyas condiciones deben ser objeto de la negociación bajo el principio de reciprocidad».

Gibraltar, for its part, has claimed to maintain the free movement of workers through the Verja and its access to the internal market despite the ‘Brexit’.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has stated that Spain will support an agreement as broad as possible on the issue of citizens’ rights «whose conditions must be negotiated under the principle of reciprocity.»
