Ignacio Echeverría, el español residente en Londres que estaba desaparecido tras los atentados del sábado, es una de las víctimas mortales. Así lo ha confirmado este miércoles su hermana Ana Echeverría a través de Facebook, que ha lamentado que al menos hasta el viernes no podrán ver su cuerpo. Se llamaba Ignacio Echeverría, era madrileño y tenía 39 años. Murió tras intentar salvar a una mujer que estaba siendo atacada por uno de los terroristas.

La identificación ha sido posible gracias a unas pruebas de ADN, ya que la comprobación a través de las huellas, solicitadas a la familia, no había arrojado resultados concluyentes. Finalmente, el embajador de España en Londres ha sido el encargado de comunicar el desenlace.

Ignacio fue visto por última vez este sábado en uno de los lugares donde se produjo el atentado. La familia explicó que, en el momento del ataque, Echeverría regresaba de patinar en un parque con sus amigos. Entonces vieron cómo un hombre apuñalaba a una mujer en el entorno de Borough Market, junto al Puente de Londres.

Los amigos del desaparecido explicaron a los familiares que Echeverría fue el único del grupo que se paró para socorrer a la mujer que estaba siendo apuñalada y golpeó al agresor con un monopatín mientras otros dos le agredían por detrás y se quedó tendido en el suelo».

Ignacio was last seen on Saturday in one of the places where the attack took place. The family explained that, at the time of the attack, Echeverría returned from skating in a park with his friends. Then they saw a man stabbing a woman in the neighborhood of Borough Market, next to the London Bridge.

The friends of the disappeared explained to the relatives that Echeverria was the only one in the group who stood to succor the woman who was being stabbed and hit the aggressor with a skateboard while two others attacked him from behind and remained lying on the ground.
