Respecto a los efectos que puede tener el brexit en la actividad económica de la Costa del Sol, Clark señaló que el número de turistas británicos que han visitado España tras el referéndum ha subido un 11%, lo que refleja la fortaleza de la economía británica.
El turismo representa el 70% de la actividad en la provincia, «siendo el número 1 el turista británico», con un crecimiento de más del 15% desde 2016, un visitante que supone más del 20% de la cuota de hoteles y el 25% de las pernoctaciones hoteleras.
