Theresa May se compromete a que la relación con España siga «creciendo en éxitos» tras el Brexit

La primera ministra británica, Theresa May, se ha comprometido este jueves a que la relación con España siga «creciendo en éxitos» tras la salida de Reino Unido de la UE, en un comunicado difundido por Downing Street antes de su encuentro con el Rey Felipe VI.
May ha dicho que esta visita de Estado es una oportunidad para celebrar el vínculo histórico entre los dos países, a los que ha definido como amigos sólidos. Así, la primera ministra ha rendido homenaje a Ignacio Echeverría, que murió en los atentados del pasado 3 de junio en Londres y ha destacado que España y Reino Unido trabajan estrechamente por la seguridad y prosperidad de sus ciudadanos, incluyendo la cooperación militar y judicial para combatir el terrorismo. También ha puesto en valor las inversiones de empresas españolas en Reino Unido, que es el primer destino inversor de España en Europa.
