Venezuela subraya que ningún país puede impedir que Maduro acuda a la Cumbre de las Américas

El Gobierno de Venezuela subrayó este domingo que el presidente, Nicolás Maduro, acudirá a la próxima Cumbre de las Américas, que se celebrará entre el 13 y el 14 de abril en Lima, recalcando que ningún país puede impedirlo.

El presidente peruano, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, anunció la semana pasada que había invitado a Maduro a la Cumbre de las Américas, si bien matizó que corresponde a cada uno saber si es bien recibido.

Esta invitación causó un gran revuelo en la política peruana y la oposición había amenazado con una moción para declarar al mandatario venezolano persona ‘non grata’.

Posteriormente, el Grupo de Lima, reunido el martes en la capital peruana, adoptó la decisión de retirar la invitación ya cursada por el Gobierno de Perú a Maduro para que asista al foro regional.

Sin embargo, el Ministerio de Exteriores venezolano ha recalcado que «cualquier lector de normativas vigentes debe concluir que no está atribuida en modo alguno a la República de Perú, ni a ningún otro Estado, la facultad de decidir sobre la participación de un Estado miembro y fundador en las reuniones de la Cumbre de las Américas».

Por ello, ha manifestado que la retirada de la invitación a Maduro «es infundada desde lo jurídico, errática y unilateral», achacándola a «motivaciones políticas e ideológicas».

Therefore, he said that the withdrawal of the invitation to Maduro «is unfounded from the legal, erratic and unilateral,» blaming it «political and ideological motivations.»
