La Guardia Civil ha celebrado este miércoles el 174 aniversario de su fundación en un acto que ha tenido lugar en la Comandancia de la Benemérita en Málaga.
Un emotivo acto en el que se han recordado a los guardias civiles caídos en acto de servicio, y en el que además se ha condecorado a otros.
El acto arrancaba con la lectura de los decretos fundacionales de la Guardia Civil por parte del alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre.
Además de más autoridades civiles y militares, al evento también han acudido el subdelegado del Gobierno, Miguel Briones, quien ha hecho especial mención a aquellos agentes que han prestado servicio en el conflicto catalán.
Por su parte, el jefe de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil en Málaga, Jesús Esteban, hizo un repaso por la historia del cuerpo, desde su creación en 1844 hasta hoy y quiso referirse a la banda terrorista ETA.
El acto concluyó con el recuerdo a los 210 guardias civiles asesinados por ETA y al malagueño Diego Díaz, fallecido en marzo tras rescatar a una pareja en Sevilla.
