DUP norirlandés sobre el Brexit, su «línea roja» es la frontera

Desde el Partido Unionista Democrático de Irlanda del Norte ha recordado este miércoles a la primera ministra británica, Theresa May, a quien sostiene en el Gobierno, que su «línea roja» para el Brexit es que dicha provincia no quede aislada de Reino Unido. La frontera entre Irlanda del Norte e Irlanda es en estos momentos el principal escollo en las negociaciones entre Londres y Bruselas para llegar a un acuerdo sobre el Brexit. El Gobierno de May pretende conservar la situación actual sin mantener la libertad de movimiento característica de la UE, algo a lo que el bloque comunitario se opone. Esta cuestión se ha convertido además en fuente de tensión entre el Gobierno británico y los unionista norirlandeses, que garantiza la continuidad de May en Downing Street, gracias a su apoyo parlamentario al Partido Conservador, que perdió su mayoría en las últimas elecciones.
