Ahora ha declarado que sí que hubo un intercambio de favores con Ucrania, basado en la suspensión de la ayuda militar estadounidense hasta que las autoridades ucranianas se comprometieran a investigar a Hunter Biden, el hijo del exvicepresidente estadounidense Joe Biden. El más alto responsable diplomático de EEUU se desliga así de la principal línea de defensa que ha tenido el mandatario estadounidense, que mantiene que nunca hubo intercambio de favores con Ucrania a propósito de su llamada telefónica al presidente de Ucrania, Volodimir Zelenski.

Un testigo clave en el ‘impeachment’ contra el presidente de EEUU, Donald Trump, ha rectificado y ahora asegura que sí hubo un intercambio de favores con Ucrania. Al parecer habría recordado una conversación que tuvo lugar el 1 de septiembre en los márgenes de la reunión del vicepresidente de Estados Unidos, Mike Pence, con el mandatario ucraniano, Volodimir Zelenski, y en la que él mismo le dijo a un alto cargo ucraniano que la ayuda militar estadounidense estaba vinculada con la investigación a Biden.
