La portavoz del Gobierno y ministra de Hacienda, María Jesús Montero, ha asegurado que el presidente del Ejecutivo, Pedro Sánchez, trasladará en la Cumbre Extraordinaria de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno comunitarios, que tendrá lugar este jueves en Bruselas, que la Política Agrícola Común es una prioridad absoluta para España, al tiempo que ha asegurado que el Ejecutivo dará soluciones a agricultores y ganaderos. Montero ha afirmado que Sánchez pondrá de manifiesto en dicha cumbre que la PAC es un puntal de la economía española y que es crucial para su estabilidad y sostenibilidad, ya que en torno a un 30% de la renta media de agricultores y ganaderos proviene de estos fondos. En este sentido, la portavoz ha subrayado que el Gobierno defenderá que la futura PAC mantenga el mismo presupuesto que en el período anterior para cumplir con los objetivos sociales y medioambientales que demanda la sociedad.
