La Universidad de Málaga ha puesto en marcha una campaña de recogida de ordenadores portátiles usados para darles una nueva vida en Los Asperones. El objetivo es combatir la pobreza digital en esta zona de la capital. La iniciativa, ha sido llevada a cabo por la Oficina del Voluntariado de la institución académica junto a la asociación Chavorrillos y lleva por lema ‘Abre una puerta al futuro’. Tanto los propios estudiantes como cualquier otro ciudadano podrán depositar sus portátiles en las conserjerías de las distintas facultades. La campaña está enmarcada dentro de un acuerdo que la UMA ya firmó en julio para hacer llegar red wifi a Los Asperones, en concreto, al colegio María de la O.

The University of Malaga has launched a campaign to collect used laptops to give them a new life in Los Asperones. The objective is to combat digital poverty in this area of the capital. The initiative has been carried out by the Volunteer Office of the academic institution together with the Chavorrillos association and has the motto «Open a door to the future.» Both the students themselves and any other citizen may deposit their laptops in the custodial offices of the different faculties. The campaign is framed within an agreement that the UMA already signed in July to bring a Wi-Fi network to Los Asperones, specifically, to the María de la O school.
