The British tourist leaves in our country an average of 1,100 euros per stay. The fact that the United Kingdom has not included Spain among the safe countries to travel, supposes a strong blow for the tourism sector that loses about 80 million a day at the national level. The situation of the hoteliers and merchants of the Costa del Sol is dramatic. Despite the fact that the perimeter closures in Spain have been lifted, they say that they cannot live off national tourism and that is why they urgently need the British to come. British tourism accounts for between 60 and 70% of all clients on the Costa del Sol. For this reason, they are asking the United Kingdom to put Spain on the green light, as they have done with Portugal. But for this, we will have to lower our incidence of infections. This situation highlights the enormous dependence on tourism, and especially on foreigners, which is why an urgent modernization of the sector is necessary. So far, our country is at amber level for the British country, so travelers must do two PCRs: one to come and one to return to the United Kingdom, in addition to passing a mandatory 10-day quarantine, which will slow down, as reported from this sector, the flow of tourists from the British Isles.
