La Costa del Sol ha participado este año en la feria Internacional del Turismo con el mayor despliegue de su historia en la primera gran cita presencial de este tipo tras la llegada de la pandemia. Un evento que este año ha simbolizado el inicio de la recuperación del turismo. Ese es el mensaje que desde Turismo Costa del Sol se ha querido lanzar y por ello se ha realizado una inversión sin precedentes que ha contado con un presupuesto superior a los 870.000 euros. El presidente de esta entidad, Francisco Salado, ha dado algunos datos que se han presentado en esta edición de Fitur. La oferta de plazas de avión con destino la Costa del Sol para viajes entre mayo y septiembre roza los 4 millones, lo que supone un crecimiento del 110% con respecto al mismo periodo del año pasado y un incremento de dos millones de plazas. El mercado que concentra mayor número de plazas es Reino Unido con cerca de un millón, seguido del mercado nacional con 720.000. En tercer lugar destacan el mercado holandés, francés y alemán. Todos con más de 200.000 plazas.
