Las primarias del PSOE pasan a una nueva fase. Tres candidatos han conseguido reunir los avales necesarios para formalizar su candidatura: Juan Espadas y Susana Díaz presentaron el número máximo de avales permitidos por los órganos internos mientras que Luis Ángel Hierro, consigue entrar en la pugna por la mínima. Los tres tienen el objetivo de recuperar el Gobierno de la Junta de Andalucía. Espadas parte como favorito pues cuenta con fuertes apoyos orgánicos e institucionales en Andalucía, entre ellos, cuatro presidentes de Diputación de los 6 que tiene el PSOE en la comunidad. Además, cuenta con el respaldo de Ferraz con Pedro Sánchez a la cabeza. El 13 de junio, se celebrarán las elecciones socialistas para liderar el partido en Andalucía y 44.000 militantes están llamados a ser los votantes que decidirán ese cambio o no en el liderazgo de la formación socialista. En caso de ser necesario, se celebrará una segunda vuelta el 20 de junio.
