Tras meses de trabajos, Estación de Cártama ya cuenta con su emblemático Puente de Hierro totalmente renovado. Este pasado miércoles era inaugurado en un acto al que asistía el alcalde de Cártama, Jorge Gallardo, acompañado de concejales de la corporación municipal así como vecinos de la localidad. El Puente de Hierro atraviesa el río Guadalhorce uniendo el núcleo de Estación de Cártama con Cártama. Fue construido entre 1927 y 1931 y las obras de restauración han consistido en reparar la estructura metálica reforzando el tablero y los tirantes que lo sustentan. También se ha reparado el hormigón y asfaltado de la calzada por la que podrán volver a transitar los peatones y ciclistas. Las obras también han
requerido renovar la pintura existente así como toda la iluminación con nuevo cableado y luminarias. En total, unos trabajos que han costado 520.650 euros financiados íntegramente por el Consistorio. El alcalde destacaba el esfuerzo realizado por el Ayuntamiento para lograr que el puente pasara a ser de titularidad municipal para poder acometer esta obra.
