El presidente de la Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, ha asistido en Fuengirola (Málaga) a la suelta en el mar de quince tortugas bobas y ha hecho un llamamiento a la ciudadanía de la comunidad para tomar conciencia y proteger el medio marino y terrestre, ya que, según Moreno, la viabilidad de muchas especies «depende de la acción humana». Por otro lado, el presidente de la Junta ha reiterado el compromiso del Gobierno andaluz con la protección de la biodiversidad y el medioambiente, por lo que ha insistido en la necesidad de avanzar en la Revolución Verde. Acompañado por la alcaldesa de Fuengirola, Ana María Mula, y la consejera de Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Desarrollo Sostenible, Carmen Crespo, Moreno ha destacado el carácter «insólito» que supone que este tipo de especies haga su nido tan al oeste del Mediterráneo y ha señalado el cambio climático como responsable de esa alteración en el comportamiento.
