Málaga ha iniciado el desbroce del Guadalmedina. El Ayuntamiento ha puesto en marcha los trabajos del desbroce del río. Se trata de una actuación en la que se retirará el follaje del caudal, así como de otros obstáculos. Lo harán por todo el río durante una semana, que durarán los trabajos. El desbroce del río ha sido objeto de debate entre partidos políticos. La edil de Servicios Operativos Teresa Porras ha defendido que el follaje frena el transcurrir del agua, y ha explicado que el Ayuntamiento se encuentra a la espera de la resolución del conflicto existente con la empresa adjudicada para los trabajos. Sin embargo los socialistas han exigido al ejecutivo el mantenimiento y limpieza del Guadalmedina tras denunciar que el margen del río ha tenido hasta colchones y mobiliario abandonado.
