El PSOE en la Diputación de Málaga llevará al pleno de este miércoles una moción en la que instará al gobierno del PP a que solicite que los verdiales sean declarados Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por parte de la UNESCO. La viceportavoz del PSOE en la institución, Toñi García, recuerda que a principios de 2014 el ayuntamiento de Málaga aprobó una moción institucional en la que se solicitaba el reconocimiento de los verdiales como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Tras este acuerdo, el consistorio debía iniciar el expediente y cumplimentar toda la documentación necesaria para esta solicitud. Esa candidatura estaba apoyada por la Diputación, la Junta de Andalucía a través de la Delegación en Málaga así como todos los ayuntamientos de la provincia, pandas y asociaciones de verdiales, antropólogos y personalidades del mundo de la cultura y el espectáculo entre otros. Ocho años después nada se sabe de ese procedimiento. Toñi García dice que todos los informes estaban listos para presentarlos ante la UNESCO pero desconoce la situación actual de dicho expediente y si hay que volver a presentar una nueva inscripción. Los verdiales sí están reconocidos como Bien de Interés Cultural en el catálogo General del Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz y están incluidos en el Atlas del Patrimonio Inmaterial de Andalucía. La Fiesta de los Verdiales se inspira en un tipo de fandango “abandolao”, caracterizado por la danza en pareja y la música de violín, guitarra, castañuelas y pandero. De raíz agraria, los verdiales surgen y se desarrollan en pequeños núcleos de población de los Montes malagueños. Existen tres modalidades de verdiales adscritas al territorio donde se origina: el estilo Montes, Almogía y Comares.

The PSOE in the Diputación de Málaga will take to the plenary session this Wednesday a motion in which it will urge the PP government to request that the verdiales be declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The Festival of the Verdiales is inspired by a type of «abandolao» fandango, characterized by dance in pairs and the music of violin, guitar, castanets and tambourine. Of agrarian roots, the verdiales arise and develop in small population centers of the Malaga Mountains. There are three modalities of verdiales ascribed to the territory where it originates: the Montes, Almogía and Comares style.
