🔴Noticia – La emoción del Misteri d’Elx vuelve tras el parón por el Covid

Elche ha vuelto a vibrar con su Misteri, o Misterio en castellano. Se trata de una festividad que se celebra cada 14 y 15 de agosto en la basílica de Santa María de la ciudad alicantina. Durante dos jornadas, la Vespra y la Festa, se recrea la Dormición, Asunción y Coronación de la Virgen María. Es una festividad declarada Patrimonio Oral e Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y se remonta a al menos el siglo XV aunque hay historiadores que incluso sitúan su celebración en siglos anteriores. Se trata de la única obra de su género que se ha sido representada sin interrupción hasta la actualidad, superando incluso el impedimento del Concilio de trento, que prohibía representar obras teatrales en el interior de las iglesias. Sólo la pandemia de coronavirus obligó a interrumpir su celebración durante dos años consecutivos. Ahora, tres años después, los ilicitanos han vuelto a ver el descenso del ángel en la magrana, sin duda, uno de los momentos más esperados. Aquí, un niño vestido de ángel desciende desde lo alto de la basílica portando una palma que entrega a la Virgen. Este sábado se hizo el ensayo general al que asistió el presidente de la Comunidad Valenciana, Ximo Puig, entre otras autoridades.
