The family of José Antonio Griñán continues to seek support to obtain the pardon of the former socialist president of the Andalusian Government. The family of the convicted person has already collected more than 4,000 signatures from personalities from the world of politics, the arts or sports. Among the signatories of the document, former socialist presidents such as Felipe González, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Susana Díaz or the historic leader of the PSOE, Alfonso Guerra, stand out. Also former members of the PP such as Eugenio Nasarre, Beatriz Gutiérrez or the former secretary general of the Andalusian PP Juan Ojeda. Outside the political sphere, the former soccer coach, Vicente del Bosque, the singer Miguel Ríos or the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo, among others, have also supported the request for pardon. They base their request for a partial pardon on reasons of humanity, arguing that the former Andalusian president is a 76-year-old citizen with an impeccable life record and who has never been personally enriched. We remember that Griñán was sentenced by the Court of Seville to 6 years and 2 days in prison for embezzlement in the case of the ERE. A sentence ratified by the Supreme Court that argues that the former Andalusian president knew the financing mechanism of the fraudulent employment regulation files.
