Expertos en salud mental lamentan que tras años del fatídico 2020, las mentes de muchos siguen esperando. Lejos de disminuir está aumentando y mucho en los últimos cinco años, alerta José Luis Ayuso, jefe de Psiquiatría del Hospital La Princesa, de Madrid. Buscan soluciones al aumento considerable a partir del 2018, disparándose durante la pandemia. “Hay que crear conciencia social para que los más frágiles y vulnerables no caigan en esas ideas suicidas”, asegura Alejandro de la Torre, autor del estudio “Evolución del suicidio en España en este milenio (2000-2021)” y miembro del Centro de Investigación Biomédica en red-Salud mental (CIBERSAM). Solo en el 2021 morían por suicidio 11 personas al día. En total, 4.003, cuatro veces más que en accidentes de tráfico. La España más envejecida, también la más despoblada, se encuentran en serio peligro. El 75% eran hombres, la mitad de mediana edad, aumentando en un 24% entre los migrantes. Un problema que necesita mucho más que salud, un plan integral que aglutine todas las necesidades, y que llegue cuanto antes porque muchos no pueden esperar más.
