And we continue to learn details about the case of the kidnapping of the socialist councilor, Vanesa Romero, in Maracena. The images from the security cameras would show that the mayoress and her partner, accused of the kidnapping, met hours after the events next to a game room in this Granada town. The tests have also revealed that around 2:00 p.m. on February 21, the day of the kidnapping, she contacted her partner. She called him several times and ended up sending him a WhatsApp message in which she made an appointment with him at her apartment. The investigations also point to the fact that both she and the Town Planning Councilor, Antonio García, and the PSOE-A Organization Secretary, Noel López, allegedly coincided in the same direction of the Maracena antenna that day hours after the kidnapping and that there was a possible crossing of calls between the three. This is clear from the report of the Judicial Police echoed by the Prosecutor’s Office in the document that it has provided to the Investigating Court 5 of Granada. The alleged kidnapper, a partner of the mayoress of Maracena, is still in provisional prison accused of illegal detention. On February 21, he allegedly put Councilwoman Vanessa Romero in a trunk with her head covered, tied with ties at her hands and feet, and after threatening her with a simulated gun. Later he drove to a local Armilla and left leaving her there, she managed to escape from her and report the facts. The mayoress, Berta Linares, of the PSOE, despite being related to the alleged kidnapper, has run for re-election in the elections. She maintains her innocence after the gag has been lifted. Linares, in a press conference, said that she finds it very strange that after three months of secrecy in the investigation, she stands up right now, two days before the elections.
