Ismail Haniya, el máximo responsable de la milicia palestina Hamás, ha afirmado este martes que su grupo está “cerca” de alcanzar una tregua con Israel. Un comunicado compartido por Reuters asegura que las partes están “cerca de alcanzar un acuerdo para la tregua”. Según otro portavoz de la milicia, Izzat el Reshiq, el acuerdo incluiría una tregua temporal para la entrada de ayuda humanitaria en la Franja y un intercambio de prisioneros, fundamentalmente mujeres y niños de ambos bandos. Además, el acuerdo “incluirá la liberación de mujeres y niños israelíes tomados como rehenes a cambio de la liberación de niños y mujeres palestinas presos en las cárceles de Israel”. El presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, también señaló que se está “más cerca que nunca” de lograr el acuerdo entre el Gobierno de Benjamin Netanyahu y Hamás, que luchan en una sangrienta guerra desde el pasado 7 de octubre.
