La Sirena emerge majestuosa e imponente de las aguas del Guadalquivir, en el emblemático muelle de la Sal, junto al puente de Triana Con motivo del V Centenario de la I Vuelta al Mundo de Magallanes, Sevilla ha sido testigo de esta botadura tan especial, una obra de arte que será el mascarón de proa de La Naumón, el barco itinerante de La Fura dels Baus que dará la vuelta al mundo. La espectacular escultura con más de 3 metros de altura y media tonelada de peso es obra del reconocido artista internacional Pol Camps. Está realizada en bronce y simboliza el espíritu del mar a través de una mujer multifacética. La obra ha sido presentada internacionalmente como protagonista del espectáculo ‘Sphaera Mundi: Tod@s vamos en el mismo barco’, el proyecto de circunnavegación de la Fura dels Baus. Le ha puesto voz la empresaria y diseñadora sevillana Rocío Peralta. La Sirena no solo guiará, como un talismán, a La Naumón por todos los confines del mundo será también un icono inconfundible y un emblema de sostenibilidad.
