🔴Noticia – Las lluvias destrozan el 80% de la cosecha de cerezas del Jerte

En el peor momento han llegado las lluvias al Valle del Jerte. Unas lluvias persistentes que han dañado sin remedio las cerezas. La lluvia de por sí es mala para el fruto pero es la humedad constante la que acaba de rematarlo. Apenas ha dado tiempo a recoger el 15 por ciento de la cereza más temprana. Los agricultores hablan de 20 millones de kilos de cerezas destrozados de los 25 previstos esta campaña. El cultivo de la cereza es vital para la economía del valle, por eso piden que se declare zona catastrófica y ayudas directas para sobrevivir.

At the worst moment the rains have come to Valle del Jerte. Some persistent rains that have irreparably damaged the cherries. The rain itself is bad for the fruit but it is the constant humidity that just finished it off. It has barely had time to collect 15 percent of the earliest cherry. Farmers speak of 20 million kilos of cherries destroyed out of the 25 expected this season. Cherry cultivation is vital to the valley’s economy, which is why they are asking for it to be declared a catastrophic zone and for direct aid to survive.
