El Ministerio de Trabajo y EconomÃa Social y los Sindicatos Comisiones Obreras y UGT pretenden aprobar el Estatuto del Becario aún sin contar con el apoyo de los rectores ni la patronal. Esta propuesta recoge un régimen sancionador a las empresas por incumplir los derechos de los alumnos, con multas de hasta 225 mil euros, una compensación de los gastos que tengan los estudiantes y limitan las prácticas extracurriculares a 480 horas.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy and the Comisiones Obreras and UGT Unions intend to approve the Scholarship Statute even without the support of the rectors or the employer. This proposal includes a penalty regime for companies for breaching the rights of students, with fines of up to 225,000 euros, compensation for students’ expenses and limits extracurricular internships to 480 hours.
