Los animales del Safari de Madrid también fueron víctimas del paso de la DANA que provocó importantes inundaciones en algunos puntos de la comunidad. Hasta 2.000 ejemplares tuvieron que ser rescatados de una muerte segura. Afortunadamente, ante la previsión de lluvias, algunos cuidadores habían decidido quedarse a dormir en las instalaciones y pudieron ponerlos a todos a salvo. Recuerdan emocionados la estampa de un avestruz incubando su huevo cuando el agua casi le pasaba por encima.
