El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación en funciones, José Manuel Albares, ha confirmado el fallecimiento de la española Emma Igual, directora de la ONG Road to Relief, en un ataque ruso a su convoy en Ucrania. En declaraciones a los medios de comunicación en Nueva Delhi, donde se encuentra por la cumbre del G20, Albares ha precisado que el Gobierno de España ha recibido «la confirmación verbal» del fallecimiento. La ONG para la que trabajaba la cooperante ha informado a través de su cuenta de Instagram de que el vehículo en el que viajaban cuatro miembros de su equipo, de Sloviansk a Bajmut para evaluar las necesidades de los civiles atrapados en el fuego cruzado en la ciudad de Ivanivske, recibió un ataque ruso el sábado por la mañana.
