El cineasta catalán Ventura Pons ha fallecido este lunes por la tarde a los 78 años. Pons empezó su trayectoria profesional en el ámbito teatral, convirtiéndose muy pronto en uno de los directores más prestigiosos de la escena catalana durante más de una década, y en 1977 dio el salto a la gran pantalla con ‘Ocaña, retrato intermitente’, que fue seleccionada para competir en el Festival de Cannes. Entre otras pelÃcula, ha sido director de filmes como ‘Actrius’, ‘CarÃcies’, ‘Amic/Amat’, ‘El perquè de tot plegat’ y ‘Anita no perd el tren’ y fue distinguido con el Gaudà d’Honor en 2015. Fue vicepresidente de la Academia de Cine, como ha recordado la institución.

The Catalan filmmaker Ventura Pons died this Monday afternoon at the age of 78. Pons began his professional career in the theater field, soon becoming one of the most prestigious directors on the Catalan scene for more than a decade, and in 1977 he made the leap to the big screen with ‘Ocaña, portrait intermittent’, which was selected to compete at the Cannes Film Festival.
