El presidente del Consejo Europeo, Charles Michel, ha anunciado este viernes su decisión de retirarse como candidato de Movimiento Reformista Belga (MR) a las elecciones del Parlamento Europeo del próximo junio y agotar su mandato al frente de la institución europea, en respuesta a las fuertes críticas recibidas desde distintos sectores por la situación de interinidad en que quedaría el Consejo tras su salida prematura.
