Contrario a lo que han explicado los científicos que están siguiendo la erupción del Cumbre Vieja, el presidente de Canarias, Ángel Víctor Torres, ha dicho este miércoles que el volcán podría acabar este año. Faltan tres semanas para que acabe el año. Torres ha expresado que ojalá sea así. Lo ha dicho en una rueda de prensa acompañado del ministro de la Presidencia, Félix Bolaños, quien se ha desplazado a la isla de La Palma para abordar la reconstrucción de la isla. Bolaños ha anunciado que antes de que finalice el año, el Gobierno habrá destinado 240 millones de euros para la reconstrucción de las zonas afectadas por la lava. Una lava que, por cierto, ya ocupa 1.184 hectáreas de superficie y ha destruido o dañado 1.628 edificaciones, 66 más que el último dato. La mayoría de esas construcciones, son viviendas. El resto son edificaciones agrícolas, industriales y de uso público, entre otros.
