Concretamente, la región recibió 4,2 millones de turistas, lo que supone un 57,2% más que en 2020, El motivo mayoritario de los turistas en sus viajes a España en 2021 fue el ocio, recreo y vacaciones, por los que llegaron 26,3 millones de turistas, un aumento anual del 69,4%. Por negocios y motivos profesionales llegaron también más de dos millones, lo que implica un aumento de 53,5% con respecto al año 2020.
