El tiempo se agota para los tripulantes del Titán, el submarino que desapareció el domingo en el Océano Atlántico mientras realizaba una inmersión para ver los restos del Titanic. Desde entonces, varios barcos tanto de la Guardia Costera de Canadá como de Estados Unidos han participado en las labores de búsqueda. También se han unido equipos especializados desde Francia equipados con minisumergibles no tripulados teledirigidos capaces de bajar a profundidades como la del Titanic, que está a 3.800 metros de profundidad. Precisamente este jueves, uno de los robots desplegados ha hallado restos materiales en la zona donde se encuentra el Titanic. Falta confirmar que esos restos sean realmente del sumergible Titán pero de ser así, este hallazgo pondría fin a la angustiosa búsqueda a contrarreloj que arrancó el domingo. El aparato desaparecido, de la empresa privada Oceangate, tenía autonomía de oxígeno para 96 horas. Un plazo que ya se ha cumplido este jueves. Este miércoles hubo una pequeña esperanza cuando el sonar de un avión de reconocimiento detectó golpes en el área de búsqueda que sonaban cada 30 minutos pero tras horas de rastreo no ha habido novedades.
