Las actividades taurinas que impliquen la muerte del toro no recibirán fondos europeos

Español:El pleno del Parlamento Europeo ha aprobado una enmienda que pide que no se destinen ayudas de la Política Agraria Común ni otros fondos europeos a «actividades taurinas que implique la muerte del toro», aunque los presupuestos de la Unión Europea no prevén ninguna partida de la PAC para ello.
La enmienda fue promovida por Los Verdes en la Eurocámara.
Una financiación de ese tipo constituiría «una clara violación» del Convenio europeo de protección de los animales en explotaciones ganaderas, según añade el texto refrendado en Estrasburgo, con el apoyo de 438 votos a favor, 199 en contra y 50 abstenciones.
No ha prosperado, sin embargo, una segunda enmienda con la que se pretendía incluir en las tablas de los presupuestos una declaración prohibiendo explícitamente el apoyo a las actividades taurinas.

English: The full European Parliament approved an amendment asking that no aid from the Common Agricultural Policy or other European «bullfighting activities involving the death of the bull» funds are spent, although the budget of the European Union does not provide for any departure from the PAC for it.
The amendment was sponsored by the Greens in the European Parliament.
Such funding would be «a clear violation» of the European Convention for the protection of animals kept for farming, adds the text endorsed in Strasbourg, with the support of 438 votes in favor, 199 against and 50 abstentions.
It has not succeeded, however, a second amendment which was intended to include in the budget tables explicitly forbidding a statement supporting bullfighting activities.
