Español:La exministra socialista Trinidad Jiménez ha decidido poner fin a su etapa en la política y no repetirá en las listas del PSOE de las próximas elecciones. Así lo ha anunciado a los periodistas en el Congreso de los Diputados, después de «un proceso de reflexión largo». Aunque asegura que seguirá apoyando a su partido, considera que es el momento de dar un paso atrás y que otras personas tomen el relevo.
La actual portavoz socialista de Asuntos Exteriores en la Cámara Baja ha explicado que terminará la legislatura y ayudará al PSOE con el objetivo de que Pedro Sánchez sea el próximo presidente del Gobierno.
Jiménez ha recordado que en los últimos 15 años ha sido concejala, diputada y ministra de dos carteras, de Sanidad y Política Social y de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación, durante los gobiernos de José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, y ha señalado que el momento «más importante» de su paso por la política fue en el que ETA anunció el fin de la violencia.
