La economía española entró en recesión técnica en el segundo trimestre del año tras registrar un desplome del PIB del 17,8% entre abril y junio, su mayor caída trimestral en la serie histórica que maneja el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) y que arranca en 1970. No obstante, este retroceso ha sido menor al adelantado a finales de julio, cuando el organismo, a falta de conocer algunos datos, estimó que el PIB habría caído un 18,5% en el segundo trimestre.
