OXO Museo del Videojuego abrirá este viernes sus puertas y situará a Málaga y a la Costa del Sol como referente internacional en la industria del sector, que actualmente lidera el ocio y el entretenimiento audiovisual. El presidente de la Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, que se ha desplazado para inaugurar este centro junto al alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, y al presidente de la Diputación provincial, Francisco Salado, ha anunciado una estrategia específica para el videojuego. La industria del videojuego será uno de los ejes del nuevo Hub Audiovisual de Andalucía. El Ejecutivo de la comunidad tiene como objetivo alentar toda clase de sinergias entre la industria cultural, turística y la del videojuego. Para concluir, Moreno ha puesto en valor a esta industria que, según ha matizado, representa casi el 15% del tejido empresarial español dedicado al sector, el 10% del empleo generado y el 7% de la facturación, sobre un total de más de 2.300 millones de euros registrados.
