Las obras de restauración de los márgenes del río Guadalmedina, en Málaga, ya han comenzado. Se trata de una actuación que la Junta de Andalucía lleva a cabo junto al Ayuntamiento y que transformará este entorno en un parque fluvial para el disfrute de los habitantes. Las obras que acomete el gobierno andaluz comprende el tramo entre la presa del Limonero y el puente de Armiñán y se encuentran al 10% de ejecución. Así lo ha asegurado este viernes el consejero de Presidencia, Elías Bendodo durante una visita a las obras en la que ha estado acompañado también por la consejera de Agricultura y Pesca, Carmen Crespo, y el alcalde de la ciudad, Francisco de la Torre. La consejería de Desarrollo Sostenible que dirige Crespo, está invirtiendo 2,6 millones de euros en este proyecto para integrar el río en la ciudad y mejorar la seguridad frente a posibles crecidas del río. A esto hay que añadir 5 millones de euros para crear un espacio forestal junto l embalse del Limonero, concretamente, en la parte alta de la margen derecha del río. Por su parte, Elías Bendodo, ha señalado que las obras van a buen ritmo. Durante esa visita, el consejero de la Presidencia, Elías Bendodo, ha adelantado que en los próximos días empezarán los trabajos de desescombro y limpieza de la parcela donde se construirá el nuevo hospital de Málaga.
