El ferry que cubre la línea entre Málaga y Melilla ha sufrido un accidente. El barco, de la compañía Balearia, chocó contra el buque portacontenedores Laust Maersk en el mar de Alborán. La colisión se produjo cuando el ferry se dirigía a la ciudad autónoma desde Málaga pero por suerte, según indican fuentes de la compañía, ningún miembro de la tripulación o el pasaje resultaron heridos y el barco pudo seguir la travesía. Al parecer, en el choque, uno de los contenedores se quedó enganchado al barco de pasajeros provocando daños materiales en el puente de mando en el lado de babor y en la zona de proa, por encima de la línea de flotación. La naviera ha anunciado que va a investigar lo ocurrido.

The ferry that covers the line between Malaga and Melilla has suffered an accident. The ship, belonging to the Balearia company, collided with the container ship Laust Maersk in the Alboran Sea. The collision occurred when the ferry was heading to the autonomous city from Malaga but luckily, according to company sources, no member of the crew or passengers were injured and the ship was able to continue the journey. Apparently, in the crash, one of the containers got stuck to the passenger ship, causing material damage to the control bridge on the port side and to the bow area, above the waterline. The shipping company has announced that it will investigate what happened.
